Thomas Deacon Academy was one of the first Academies to be created and continues to thrive through our core values of Trust, Discipline and Aspiration. As we enter the exciting new phase of our future. We continue to offer an aspirational learning environment for students from the ages of 7 to 18 years old. Our modern facilities, TDA Junior, Sixth Form Study Centre and 43 acre campus allow us to provide the ultimate in educational choice.

Most recently, July 2015, Ofsted graded the Academy as ‘Good’ in all areas and we are moving forward in our continued journey towards ‘Outstanding’.

The Academy also saw a substantial increase in our examination results in August 2015 reflecting a three year upwards trend.

    We are currently looking to recruit Invigilators to support the work of our Examinations Team in delivering paper and computer based examinations. You will be required to supervise internal and external examinations including GCSE, GCEs and mock exams to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the Academy and JCQ regulations.

  • Cleaner

    The Job

    We are looking to appoint an evening Cleaner to clean all designated areas to ensure the Academy is kept to a high standard throughout. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) maintaining all floor surfaces to a high standard, hoovering all carpeted areas and the use of other powered equipment as required (scrubbing machines, polishing machines). Full training will be given to the successful candidate.

    The Person

    Will:

    • Have the motivation to carry out their role.
    • Be committed and dedicated to the Academy.
    • Have experience of undertaking general cleaning activities.
    • Be able to work as part of a team and on their own.
    • Have basic knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.

    The Job

    We are looking to appoint a Midday Assistant to join an established and friendly team working across the main Academy. The role involves supervising students during the lunch time period in the refectory and Academy open spaces.  The successful candidate will be expected to manage student behaviour in line with Academy policies.

    The Person

    Will:

    • Be able to work in a team as well as independently.
    • Be able to manage student behavior in line with Academy policies.
    • Have a firm but calm approach towards students.
    • Have previous experience of supervising children.
