Two year 13 students had the privilege of attending the Mock European Union Council

A fantastic opportunity was offered for us to take two sixth form students to a Mock EU Council event at the Foreign and Commonwealth Offices in London on Monday 8th December 2014  The Mock Council met in the beautiful surroundings of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.  We were hosted by the Minister for Europe,  David Lidington. Our students were invited to play the roles of a Minister and a civil servant from Croatia. Having worked hard to prepare for their roles our students spent the day debating on two current issues. They debated with students from 29 other schools around the country. Our students were well researched and prepared and were able to hold their own in these sometimes challenging debates. They came away having had an interesting, challenging and informative day, and with plenty to talk about in their subsequent Oxbridge interviews.
