Yr 12 & 13 Celebrating success

Year 12 and 13 assemblies in March took on a different format for students at Thomas Deacon Academy and became a forum for celebrating success both on an academic and personal development level.
Sixth Form Achievement Leaders from each of the colleges nominated their three ‘best’ students in each year group. It was really brilliant to hear stories that all echoed the theme of positive role modelling for younger students in the school; from the student who always maintains a cheerful outlook and inspires others, to the academic success of a student who has received an offer from Oxford University.
All subjects nominated students for their performance and outstanding effort and there were many happy faces as students collected their certificates.
It was agreed by all that the assemblies left a real feel good factor and as one student summed it up “that was a really good assembly Miss!”
