The Sports Team at the Thomas Deacon Academy is committed to establishing the highest standards of team performance, student engagement and individual achievement. Key strategies to achieve this include: extensive work with local Primary schools, 3 Primary Sports Festivals, key partnerships with 8 local & regional sports clubs, the appointment of specialist coaches, more than 400 external fixtures in 8 different sports, annual international tours, 200 students on Duke of Edinburgh Award programmes, excellent new facilities and a team of 12 PE teachers with 4 dedicated support staff.
