Communications at The Thomas Deacon Academy is a vibrant and dynamic College that strongly believes in empowering its community to become independent and responsible learners. To this end we offer a wide range of subjects at different levels, operate ‘early entry’ into GCSE and A/S and run single gender classes at KS4.

We are strongly committed to realising our students’ learning potential and root our teaching in a multiple intelligences-based curriculum that celebrates a variety of different teaching and learning styles. English, Modern Foreign Languages and Media lessons are inspired and often at the cutting edge of educational practice. We encourage creativity and the ability to think ‘outside the box’, whilst insisting upon high standards of achievement.

The college has a strong identity and ethos fuelled by inter-tutor group challenges and a competitive spirit. We aim to offer our students a rich and diverse extra curricular programme of events, these include theatre visits, conferences, trips abroad and the spectacular ‘Battle of the Bands. ’
