Teaching and Learning
Teaching and Learning is the core business of the Thomas Deacon Academy. Our drive to improve standards in the classroom means that the work of our classroom practitioners, on a daily basis, is under scrutiny to ensure that all students receive the best teaching possible.
Within individual colleges, College Leaders have responsibility for ensuring that standards of teaching and learning in their subject teams are consistent with the drive overall to raise our next Ofsted judgement to outstanding.
Teaching and Learning strategies form a core part of college business but to ensure consistency across the Academy and Key Stages a whole school Teaching and Learning team exists to support key developments. Each college is represented by their best practitioners whose role it is to support developments both within their college and across the school.
We are proud of our achievements so far but are also aware that there is still work to be done to ensure that every student has on offer to them the best teaching possible.
