About Leonardo Projects
The Leonardo da Vinci European programme is funded by the European Commission and enables practical projects in the field of vocational education and training. Students are provided with work based skills training and also have the opportunity to take part in a student / cultural exchange with partner schools. From 2011-2013 Thomas Deacon Academy are working with students from Christoph Graupner Gymnasium in Kirchberg, Germany and with a specialist city marketing team, Imago City, based in Seville in Spain. Y9 and Y10 students from across the academy who are studying Modern Foreign Langauges ( Spanish and German) and / or Business and Travel and Tourism are taking part.
Students will receive business training through a series of workshop conducted in Spanish. They visit Kirchberg and stay with a German student and their family and in summer 2012 will host the German school at Thomas Deacon Academy. Further training will be provided in 2013 and the whole group will have an opportunity to visit Seville.
