Inspire Careers Conference 2011 - best yet!
In our 4th year of hosting the Inspire Careers Conference at Thomas Deacon Academy, year 11 students were treated to a day-off timetable to spend the day working with people from all walks of sector and industry. Despite the ever increasing squeeze on resources and budget in the workplace, we were hugely grateful, as ever, for the overwhelming generosity and support from over 40 businesses and organisations that made the event the best yet!
Over 320 year 11 students took part in a day which was kick-started by a thought-provoking presentation by Iain Forsthye, Founder and Managing Director of Premiere Kitchens and Bedrooms. It was probably the best organised event so far, which was helped by not only a dedicated team of staff, but with the help of many year 12 and 13 volunteers who gained some valuable work experience, not to mention some useful contacts in the process!
